Common General Contracting FAQ
What is the GC Process
Our estimation process begins with an in-depth consultation to understand project goals and specifications. We then conduct site reviews, analyze materials, and consider timelines to create a comprehensive cost estimate.
How quickly can we get a project estimate
Our estimation timelines depend on project size and complexity. We strive to deliver preliminary estimates promptly, followed by detailed breakdowns once additional project details are finalized.
How does an estimate translate to project cost
Our estimates provide a transparent view of potential costs, helping to prevent surprises during the project. We account for materials, labor, permits, and contingencies, offering a complete project cost analysis.
What kind of experience do you have estimating projects
With years of industry experience, DASD Contracting has successfully estimated and managed a wide range of projects, from residential developments to large-scale industrial builds.

It has been our pleasure to work with DASD Contracting Inc. on numerous projects over the last 12 years. These projects have ranged in value from $10,000 to over $3,500,000. All projects have been completed on time and on budget. DASD has always provided excellent site supervision and exceptional head office support. As a general contractor, DASO has many sub-trades involved in the construction projects. We have found the same commitment to excellence from the sub-trades, that DASD exhibits, on a continual basis. All DASD personnel are professional and accessible, ensuring clear and concise communication. This professionalism allows projects to be developed in a cooperative manner. DASD always supports our charitable endeavors with significant contributions to our annual Pow Wow and at the holiday season with critical food donations. DASD is and will continue to be our first choice for any contracting work.

Since then they have engaged in several other projects like a 2 storey custom residence, and a specially designed steel and wood pergola was just completed for our Reena Community Residence We would not hesitate to recommend DASD to any prospective client. The principals at DASD are persons of high integrity, professional and easy to get along with.
Reena - Stan Z
Fourteen years ago, the DASD Team transformed a newly acquired sports apparel factory into a truly remarkable community space. To this day, visitors continue to praise the quality craftsmanship and the timeless, fresh design that still feels as impressive as it did on day one. DASD’s exceptional work didn’t stop there; they continued to provide top-tier construction services for two additional phases of our building’s transformation. I cannot emphasize enough the professionalism of Sam Tsangaris and the DASD team—before, during, and long after the build. Their dedication and expertise made the entire process seamless. We are beyond grateful for the incredible space they have created—one that we take pride in working in every single day.

Construction & Pre-Construction Phase
During the construction phase, as your General Contractor Dasd assume all management responsibilities both on and off the site in the form of a Project Manager and full time Site-Superintendent:
Post Construction Phase
DASD Contracting also offers Construction Management services under CCDC 5B, a flexible and collaborative approach that allows for greater owner involvement and cost transparency. As a Construction Manager (CM), we work closely with owners, architects, and consultants from the early design stages to project completion.
Unlike a traditional lump-sum (General Contracting) contract, CCDC 5B enables us to act as as a Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) - which means we provide both advisory and execution services, assuming responsibility for trade contracts and project delivery while ensuring seamless coordination between all stakeholders. This approach is ideal for projects that require early contractor involvement, fast-tracked timelines, or evolving design requirements. Learn about our Construction Management Services.
